A matter of life and death
SOS Alarm is first and foremost associated with their task of manning the Swedish emergency telephone number, which is also at the core of the organisation’s business. However, emergency response services is only one half of their activities; the other consists of security and on call services.
Today there are about 1000 employees spread out from the northern town of Luleå to the south of Sweden in Malmö. There is a big need for recruiting. and naturally the influx of candidates has increased. The recruitments take place on several locations and are managed by recruitment specialists as well as hiring managers. When SOS Alarm grew out of their previous recruitment software ReachMee, after comparing several systems, became the obvious choice.
”We have large quantities of candidates and many recruitments in several locations. It’s also common that candidates apply for several positions repeatedly, and therefore the possibility to see applicants’ histories are of extra importance to us.”
Automation saves resources and streamlines the recruitment process
Before SOS Alarm decided to switch over to ReachMee, their recruitment processes demanded a lot of resources and usually took about four months to complete. Today, the processes have been streamlined to take about eight to ten weeks, owing to the fact that ReachMee has made it possible to automate processes and work with a funnel. The large quantity of applications that are submitted are automatically handled; where candidates that live up to basic qualifications are moved to the next stage. Those applicants are asked to complete screening tests, an important factor for minimizing the chance of discrimination.
”Personal qualities are very important when we recruit. We use screening tests and when we switched over to ReachMee, who works closely with our test supplier, we saved a lot of time solely by not having to work in multiple systems. If you are managing 1600 applications you need to be able to automate and streamline.”
Hiring managers can work freely
With a large amount of recruitments its natural that a lot of people are involved in the recruitment process. So, when facing the change of recruitment tool it was important to consider usability. ReachMee offered an intuitive and user-friendly system with an appealing look.
